Round Tower / spiral ramp

Architect:  Hans van Steenwinckel the Younger, 1642, for king Christian IV.  The Rundetaarn was used as an astronomical observatory and the spiral ramp allowed ascent by horseback or even horse-and-cart. Købmagergade 52A, 1150 København, Denmark.
