Victory Column / Berlin

Designed by Heinrich Strack, to commemorate the 1864 defeat of Denmark by Prussia, although the Prussian victories against Austria (1866) and France (1871) were also consolidated into the column's meaning. Materials include sandstone and red granite, with a gilded bronze statue of Victoria (Nike) by Friedrich Drake. Großer Stern, 10557 Berlin, Germany.
