Small paving tiles on Monastiraki Square reminiscent of the city's Byzantine period. The historic square was refurbished in 2008 after an architectural competition organised by the office for the Unification of Archaeological Sites of Athens.

St Mary Somerset Tower / EC4

Architects: Office of Sir Christopher Wren, 1694, in the English Baroque style. Church body demolished 1871, leaving this Portland stone-clad tower, now Grade I listed. There has been a prize-winning design — by architects Pilbrow & Partners, 2014 — to convert this into a single private home. City of London.
