Stables and riding school designed by William Porden, 1805, for George, Prince of Wales. Later used by William IV. Purchased by the local authority in 1850 and in 1873 was adapted by the Borough Surveyor, Philip Lockwood, as a museum. Grade 2* listed. Recent restoration by Donald Insall Associates.
