Lake Biwa Canal / Kyoto
Architect/Engineer: Sakuro Tanabe, 1890. The canal from Lake Biwa to Kyoto was constructed for transportation, irrigation and drinking-water. Also Japan's first HEP station was built near here. Now designated an Historic Site. Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan.
