The Canons / Dovecote
Early C16, possibly earlier. Chalk clunch construction with red-brick quoins and some knapped flint in the plinth. Hipped tile roof with timber louvre and metal weathervane. Thought to be the oldest building in Mitcham. Grade II listed. London Borough of Merton.

104 Cheyne Walk / SW10

House once the residence of Hilaire Belloc — poet, essayist, historian — from 1900 to 1905. Earlier, the residence of artist Walter Greaves who lived here 1855-1897. Other artists to have lived on Cheyne Walk include J.M.W.Turner, Dante Gabriel Rossetti and James McNeill Whistler. This was before the Chelsea Embankment was constructed, when the houses then fronted onto the river Thames. Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, London.

Curzon Chelsea / SW3

Closed March 2018 for site redevelopment by the Cadogan Estate, with a plan to re-open a 600-seat triplex in Spring 2022. This building first opened as the Gaumont Palace in 1937, designed by architects William E. Trent and Ernest F. Tully. Although reduced in size over the years, it still claimed the biggest screen outside of the West End until its recent closure. The original part was built in 1894 as a flour mill. lts name can be seen in terracotta on the gable. It was operated by Spillers until closure in 1978 when it was then divided up into business units. In 2007 it was converted into residential and commercial units.
