Clabon Mews / SW1

Built on part of what was once known as Quail Field — open land used for market gardening until 1837. By the mid-C19 it had become a successful sporting ground and home of the MCC, until the club left for Lord's in 1876. The mews buildings arose to serve the grand Queen Anne Revival residences of Lennox Gardens which were developed 1882-6. Now these mews dwellings fetch many millions of pounds in their own right. Within the Hans Town Conservation Area, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, London.
