Parthenon / Entrance (east)


Architects: Ictinus and Callicrates, built 447-438 BC. The most important extant building of the Greek Classical period, it was dedicated to goddess Athena Parthenos. It is predominantly Doric design of outstanding subtlety and precision, built using Pentelic marble.  On the Acropolis, Athens, Greece.
