Church of St Catherine / Pláka


Church built on the ruins of the ancient temple of goddess Artemis during C11th. By this time the Greek Christian Church had split from the Latin (Roman Catholic) Church. The architectural style is Byzantine, Athens being part of the Byzantine Empire at this period. Aghia Ekaterini, Pláka, Athens, Greece.
