Stone Pier / Weymouth
Stone pier breakwater, to south of Weymouth Harbour entrance. First constructed in the C18, the pier was much extended in 1876. The viewing platform with navigation light was added c.1915. There have been storm-damage repairs in the 1820s, the 1980s and as recently as this year. Popular with sea-anglers as well as promenaders. Weymouth, Dorset.
