Kyoto Botanical Garden Conservatory / 2 pics

Completed 1992 and said to be designed to resemble the nearby Kinkaku-ji (Zen Buddhist Temple) as well as Kyoto’s northern mountains.  
In the oldest and most comprehensive public botanical garden in Japan. (Clock out-of-service unfortunately). At Hangi-cho, Shimogamo, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan.

Lake Biwa Canal / Kyoto

Architect/Engineer: Sakuro Tanabe, 1890. The canal from Lake Biwa to Kyoto was constructed for transportation, irrigation and drinking-water. Also Japan's first HEP station was built near here. Now designated an Historic Site. Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan.
