Haus des Lehrers / 2 images





Architect: Hermann Henselmann, 1964, in the Modernist style with a huge frieze facade across floors 3 and 4. Frieze artist: Walter Womacka, mosaic using glass enamel, ceramics and lead. At 7 metres in height and 125 metres in length, the whole 800,000-tile mosaic is Europe's largest artwork. Haus des Lehrers (Teachers' House), Alexanderstraße 9, 10178 Berlin, Germany.
