Greenland Dock / SE16

Dock excavated in 1696 and was a base for Arctic Whalers in the mid-C18, when it got its present name. Later it handled timber and grain, finally closing in 1969 following containerisation. Now a location for residential and leisure. London Borough of Southwark.

'Traffic Light Tree' by Pierre Vivant

This sculpture replaced, in 1998, a plane tree that had died on a roundabout in Westferry Road. Height 8m, steel and 75 lights. The lights operate at random and do not control traffic. London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
