Ashby-Fenwick Memorial / Wandle Park

Late-C19 drinking fountain commemorating Robert Bloomfield Fenwick and Harry Pollard Ashby who were both residents of Wandle Park. Previously the grounds of Wandlebank House (1791-1962), the land was purchased for public ownership in 1907. A water-carrier statue was formerly displayed on the pedestal of this fountain. Likely to have been a local authority development of the late 1960s. It consists of 114 units in one eight-storey, one three-storey and two six-storey blocks, each block elevated on concrete piles.
