St Mary Somerset Tower / EC4

Architects: Office of Sir Christopher Wren, 1694, in the English Baroque style. Church body demolished 1871, leaving this Portland stone-clad tower, now Grade I listed. There has been a prize-winning design — by architects Pilbrow & Partners, 2014 — to convert this into a single private home. City of London.

This development was designed by Will Alsop for Thameslink, 2013, when the PV roof panels were also introduced. The original railway bridge was designed by John Wolfe-Barry and Henry Marc Brunel, 1886.
